It’s a known fact that I’m totally spoiled when it comes to dinner at my house. It’s amazing how Stephanie is able to juggle watching Derek and Logan, and still make healthy, tasty meals each day. Another meal that I look forward to eating is beef with tofu. There are different kinds of tofu, and I’m more of a fan of the firmer kind. Throw in some beef and put it over rice with some vegetables and I’m a satisfied customer! In case you’d like to try this for yourself, here’s how Stephanie makes it:
Beef with Tofu
Cut and slice beef into small pieces.
Marinate beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, and corn starch.
Smash a garlic and cut some small slices of ginger and add to beef.
Cut up tofu into smaller slices.
Heat a pan with some oil and to pan fry the tofu. (be careful – the oil will splatter).
Flip tofu over after a couple mins then remove from pan.
Add some more oil to pan to stir fry beef. (it should only take a couple mins).
While beef is cooking, put some corn starch in a bowl and add some cold water.
Once the beef is almost cooked through, add the corn starch and water mixture to pan (this will make a gravy).
Stir beef with gravy until it bubbles.
Add some oyster sauce (to taste).
Pour beef and gravy over tofu and serve with rice.
